Bio
"Already leaving a big mark," "Her voice is an incredible mix of Dolly Parton & Stevie Nicks." are just some of the things people have written about Kayleigh.
Kayleigh Leith is an All-American girl from the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA who packed her bags, left behind her American life and wandered into the Dutch countryside. It took some time for Kayleigh to get used to the country life after living in Steeltown, but she adapted while remaining true to herself and wrote a record that combines her American roots and new surroundings in a very intriguing way. Kayleigh delivers intimate pop songs with beautiful country arrangements. She has an engaging personality combined with a perfectly painted picture of emotion in every song she writes and performs.
Where most people come to the United States to start a musical career, Kayleigh did exactly the opposite and moved to the Netherlands. While adapting to her new surroundings, Kayleigh spent her long days writing lyrics and putting melodies together with nothing but her musical inspiration and a trusty acoustic guitar.
In 2010 Kayleigh briefly returned to the USA and spent a month in New York to record her first album in the renowned Cutting Room Studios. She was able to bring some great musicians on board such as drummer Shawn Pelton, and multi-instrumentalist Thad deBrock. They were paramount in recording her debut album “Miles Away”, which was released worldwide on Suburban Records in October 2011.
After a successful release and tour it was time to work on album number two. Legendary country artist and writer Rob Crosby was brought in to produce the album and in 2012 and 2013 Kayleigh would spend a lot of time in Nashville writing and recording. In September 2013 she released her second album titled “This Woman.” With “This Woman” Kayleigh's musical growth continued as she leaned a little more toward gospel, blues and rock, with her sound still rooted in that pop-based New Country.
“This Woman” was received very well by the critics and Kayleigh and her band set off on her first European club tour in 2013 followed by festival tour in 2014 with shows all over Europe and the US.
Since that time, Kayleigh moved back to the USA and disappeared from the public eye and took a break from music to focus on other parts of her life. Even though it has been over a decade ago since her last release, Kayleigh continues to have an inspiring combination of determination and passion that shines through in her music. She is a prolific songwriter, composing both music and lyrics that highlight her very unique voice. In 2024 Kayleigh picked up her guitar again and she is looking forward to writing, recording and of course, performing again.
